Student of stained glass – The metamorphosis of an original American Panel

Working in the style of the great American Frank Lloyd Wright.  This full-sized panel (approximately 32″ x 20″) is my interpretation of how minimalism can be simple and complex simultaneously.  My goal is to offer an unobstructed view of the beauty of nature subtly complimented be the colors, shapes and prisms in the window.  This is still a work in progress, once it is fully leaded I will share it again. This is my first window in this style and I look forward to viewers reflections and reactions.

Capturing a Raindrop

No, it’s not a turtle.  Rather a macro photograph of a lonely raindrop resting on a broccoli leaf in the Fall Victory Garden.  How innocent  and beautiful a drop of water can be.

“Lucy in Lead” stained glass no.3 is complete

At long last my newest stained glass piece is complete. The piece represents my first attempt at creating something outside of my comfort zone.  I typically favor more abstract and modern work , however I am extremely proud of the way the work turned out.  Perhaps two of the greatest compliments I could receive were: 1) when somebody suggested that it looked like a kit.  “Lucy in Lead” is an original work, not any type of kit, rather it is the result of endless hours of cutting, leading, soldering etc.  2) the studio where I did my work requested permission to feature it on their website. It was a fairly complex piece to create, in the end I am sure all the time and effort was worth it.
