This is obviously an emotionally charged movement. And like so many other things that people or governments cannot put their arms around they become fearful of what the outcomes might be. The abstract nature of the OWS movement is intentional, they do not want any existing political or corporation to exploit the movement or their message. I understand that change can be scary, people often fear the unknown, especially if that change potentially threatens the status quo. What I cannot understand why its OK for social change to occur in other countries, but not in our own. Recently the inability to understand the OWS movement has been leading to government clamp downs the very thing they criticize when speaking about the leaders in other countries Occupy Austin has been a pretty peaceful demonstration but unfortunately the police have escalated the policy of containing the movement.
